    Continuous Flight Augering

    Tag:

Continuous Flight Augering (CFA), also known as auger cast piling, is a construction technique used to create deep concrete foundations efficiently and with minimal disturbance. The method involves drilling a hole with a continuous flight auger to a specified depth, while simultaneously pumping concrete through the hollow stem of the auger as it is slowly withdrawn.
This creates a continuous concrete pile without leaving an open hole. After concreting, reinforcement cages are inserted into the fresh concrete to provide structural strength. CFA piles can be used for building foundations, retaining walls, and earth retention systems, and they are particularly favored in urban areas due to their low noise and vibration levels.

CFA suitable for a wide range of soil types, including cohesive and cohesionless soils, even with water-bearing strata.
Produces piles typically ranging from 300 mm up to 1400 mm in diameter and can reach depths of 15 to over 30 meters depending on machinery and soil conditions.
